Use the buttons above to switch cover modes, and the ①②③ numbers on the switch bar to change chats. Press the same number again to hide it. The dashed ★ is a closed favorite — press it and it opens right away.

FEATURES

What doesn't need to be seen, isn't.

It doesn't block or monitor your work. It shields your private screen from prying eyes, and you choose what to bring up.

🛡️

Always-on auto protection

Nothing to press. The moment you look away, the private window is already disguised as Notepad or the desktop — shutting out shoulder surfing at the source.

🔢

Numbered switch bar

Stack chat windows and press a number to bring one to the front. Press the same number again to hide it. Swap the number for any single character you like.

Favorites always at hand

Pin frequent chats to the switch bar as a dashed number. Even when the room is closed, pressing that number finds and opens it instantly — no more digging through the list.

🗂️

Stack windows in one click

Gather scattered chat windows neatly into one spot, then flip between them by number.

📐

Save & restore your layout

Place your windows where you like and hit "Save positions" once. Later, even if windows scatter or close, the switch bar's restore button snaps everything — including the main window — back to that saved layout.

💤

Auto-cover when idle

Step away (no input) and even the window you were viewing covers itself. A passing mouse won't reveal it — you have to click. (Default: 1 minute.)

🟧

Keep one window uncovered

Right-click a number on the switch bar to exempt just that window (shown in orange) — leave rooms that don't need hiding visible. Right-click again to re-cover.

📎

Send files while covered

Even while covered, drag a file onto it and the real KakaoTalk window restores automatically and sends it. Being hidden never interrupts what you're doing.

🌄

Wallpaper cover

The chat window melts into your desktop and vanishes. Only a title bar remains, so it looks like nothing is there.

📝

Notepad cover

Covers the chat with a screen that looks like a genuine Windows Notepad, so private conversations stay hidden from the person next to you.

To-do cover (a real productivity screen)

Not a fake mock-up — it's a to-do app you actually use. Checking an item adds a strikethrough and timestamp; tags, calendar and history all really work — it looks exactly like getting work done.

⌨️

Custom hotkeys

Assign a hotkey per room (e.g. Ctrl+Alt+Z). Switch or hide any window without lifting your hands.

🧲

Magnetic switch bars

Use it with Chrome Cover and you'll have two switch bars. Bring them close and they snap together into one tidy row. Drag one and the other follows; pull apart to separate.

🚀

Ready the moment you boot

Turn on your PC and Sichimi launches itself and even reopens your favorite chats, ready to go. No launching and hunting every time — it's always watching your back.

HOW IT WORKS

Three steps, done.

The core is one idea — "Click away from KakaoTalk and it turns into a work screen automatically." You don't even have to hide it. Your private screen is protected before anyone can see it.

Install & run

Double-click after downloading. When a Notepad icon appears in the tray, you're ready.

Look away and it disappears

The instant you click another window, the chat becomes Notepad or the desktop. Nothing to press.

Bring up the one you want

Press a number on the switch bar (or a hotkey) to raise just that window. Press again to hide it.

FAQ

Frequently asked

Is it OK to use at work?
Yes. Shielding the private parts of your screen from prying eyes is legitimate privacy — it's a security-hygiene tool that reduces private conversations being exposed over your shoulder in shared seats, cafés or the subway. It doesn't block your work or bypass company systems, and it collects no data at all. Look away and private windows hide themselves; you bring up only what you choose.
Is it safe? Could my chats leak?
Yes. Sichimi only covers your screen — it never reads or sends your chats, screen, or window titles. There is no personal data to collect. (With a paid license, there is only an authentication check to confirm your subscription is valid — even then, only license info is exchanged, never your chats or screen. Being unsigned, antivirus/SmartScreen may warn, which is normal.)
Is it OK if KakaoTalk updates?
It works fine in most cases. If a major KakaoTalk update breaks something, we ship a Sichimi update to match.
Is the to-do cover actually usable?
Yes — it's a real, working to-do app, not just a look-alike. Add items and check them off (strikethrough + completion timestamp), and tags, tag search, calendar view and history all really work. So it looks like a genuine work screen to anyone glancing over.
Can I send files while it's covered?
Yes. While covered, just drag a file onto it and the real KakaoTalk window restores automatically and sends it. No need to un-hide and re-hide — being covered never interrupts your flow.
Is there a Mac version?
A macOS version is in the works. When it's out you'll be able to get it here.
Antivirus blocks it / I get a warning.
That's because it's an unsigned indie tool. After downloading, choose "More info → Run anyway," and if antivirus blocks it, allow/whitelist it.
Can I use other covers like Chrome/Edge too?
Yes. One subscription covers Sichimi (KakaoTalk), Chrome Cover and Edge Cover together. New covers (stock HTS, NOX, LINE, etc.) will be introduced separately as they're ready.
How far can I go for free?
You can cover 1 KakaoTalk window up to 30 times a day for free (resets at midnight) — plenty for light use. On the 20th, a "Covered you safely N times today" note appears once. Past the free limit (30), your chats stay covered (never exposed) — you just see an upgrade note instead of the cover. Free also includes all three covers (Notepad · To-do · Wallpaper), auto-lock when idle, and Chrome/Edge covers up to 20×/day. Covering 2+ chats and unlimited Chrome/Edge need a subscription.
How much does it cost?
KakaoTalk 1 window 30×/day is free. For unlimited use, extra chats, and unlimited Chrome/Edge, it's $4.99/month or $49/year (2 months free). One subscription unlocks every cover, and you can cancel anytime.
